Description

For customers who want a solid, mid-priced banjo made with our most popular specifications, this is your axe. Constructed with an 11″ 3-ply cherry rim, matching three-piece neck and dowel, 25.5″ scale length and 1 5/16″ nut width, rolled brass tone ring, L-style heel, frailing scoop, 18 bracket hooks, Gotoh tuners, side dot position markers, and two-way adjustable truss rod. Fretboard and peghead overlay material is available in Richlite, ebony or rosewood.

We are now offering the “Ecusta Edition” Jubilo which is constructed with Richlite fretboard and peghead overlay, and a black phenolic resin rim. This material is similar to Richlite and was sourced from the decommissioned Ecusta paper mill in Brevard, NC before it was demolished in 2008. We have a limited supply of tubes which have been upcycled to make fine sounding banjo rims. The Ecusta Edition is available with both hookless and traditional hardware options.

Sorry, custom specs are not available on this model. For a fully customizable version of the Jubilo check out the J 200. Comes with lifetime warranty for materials and workmanship.

I was searching for an old-time open back banjo and so purchased a Jubilo a couple months ago. I am quite pleased with my purchase! Its volume is surprising! Sometimes I play with a group and it really cuts in nicely. In my opinion, it has a very unique sound compared to the other banjos I’ve played or have been around. (Much more bluegrass style in my area.) This banjo really sings. I feel that has a lovely warm sound without any harshness. I find it to be quite playable and well weighted so it is easy to hold and play. There’s a lot of potential in this little banjo and I’m just scratching the surface. I really couldn’t be happier with my Jubilo. As far as looks, the Jubilo is gorgeous. It looks and feels very well crafted and I love its understated minimalistic design. The only so-called down side of getting a Jubilo is never wanting to put it down. Thanks Cedar Mountain for making a model for those of us who aren’t looking for a custom instrument….(yet).
