The A & FH Models
The A (Appalachian) and FH (Foothills) models feature a simple peghead design and a "Dobson” style heel inspired by traditional handcrafted Appalachian banjos. These models are not "copies" but a natural evolution of banjo design.
The A has a 25-1/2” scale neck that has 1-5/16” width at the nut. The FH Model has a slightly shorter and narrower neck (24-5/8” x 1-1/4”) than the A, for those players desiring a shorter left arm reach and closer fret and string spacing. The FH plays well in G tuning, but can be tuned to A as well as C or D, or capoed, like the longer scale banjos.
The A & FH have unadorned peghead cover and fingerboard and include all of the standard features available on Vintage Line banjos
The A1 & FH1 add a CMB ginseng inlay on the peghead.
The A2 & FH2 have a CMB ginseng inlay and matching square fingerboard position markers.
