CMB is proud to be a sponsor of the 2016 Mountain Song Festival, a stellar showcase of world-class bluegrass, folk, and Americana talent. Mountain Song was started ten years ago as a fundraiser for the Cindy Platt Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County, which also happens to be home of the Transylvania Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) program. As a former administrator and instructor for the program, I can appreciate the importance of getting quality, comfortable instruments in the hands of young pickers. Quickly realizing the shortcomings of the cheap factory-made instruments that are currently in use in the program, we developed a short-scale student/travel banjo called the Jubilo Junior, with kids in mind.
As always with music education programs, finding funding is difficult so in the meantime CMB will be donating two Jubilo Juniors to the program this fall. We hope that our young musicians’ musical journeys will be more comfortable and enjoyable.
